Personal Fulfillment

About The LOFT:
The LOFT was founded in 1983. The LOFT provides a safe gathering place for the LGBTQIA+ and supportive community of Westchester County and surrounding areas. The LOFT is Westchester County's premier and largest LGBTQ+ Community Center. The LOFT facilitates a wide range of peer support, health and wellness, social service, and recreational programs, and advocates for improved services for the community. The LOFT's Mission is simple and strong:

ADVOCATE, EDUCATE, CELEBRATE

"The LOFT works to further the cause for inclusion diversity and pride through education, advocacy, and celebration."

Volunteering with The LOFT:
Volunteers assist The LOFT Staff and Board immensely and are often referred to as the heart of our organization. With a volunteer team of over 175 volunteers, LOFT volunteers give back in many areas. LOFT volunteers assist with facilitating peer spaces and offering support in group settings, leading social groups and building community through various activities, administrative projects and tasks, library and cyber center help, and developing research-based materials to enhance our education and advocacy efforts.

Volunteer opportunities are usually held at The LOFT LGBTQ+ Campus. It doesn't stop there - opportunities can take place at local community organizations in which LOFT staff and volunteers represent not only the organization but the LGBTQ+ community in Westchester and the greater NY area.
